MADD & Virginia State Police Prove They Have H.E.A.R.T. in the Effort to Reduce Drunk Driving

CHESAPEAKE, VA - Virginia State Police will join representatives from the Southside Chapter of Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to announce a new, joint partnership program called HEART or Help Eliminate Alcohol Related Tragedies.

HEART is a public educational campaign intended to raise awareness about the deadly dangers of drunk driving and works to reduce traffic fatalities associated with them. A first for Hampton Roads, the innovative program includes a DUI simulator consisting of a golf cart and a fatal vision goggles kit. The kit contains various goggles which simulate what your mind perceives while under the influence. During the event, media will have an opportunity to experience the DUI simulator under the guidance of a trooper.
